How do I explain the gardening thing?
I like gardening. In theory. In a video game? Yep! In a book? Absolutely. Permaculture? Love to read about it.
But actually doing it has always ended in disappointment.
I have killed parsley. I have killed geraniums. I have murdered an air plant.
I did once successfully grow a fennel plant…in my dad’s back yard. When he found it, he made me dig it up, because they are a virulent pest in the Adelaide Hills. That was probably my most successful gardening exercise so far.
Anyway, let’s focus on the future! This winter, I’m determined to grow something. (Last summer all my tomatoes crisped in the heat.) I figure my problem is biting off more than I can chew. I’m going to focus on a limited number of plants, try to sort out their needs, and do my best.
Lucky for me, I have an excellent assistant.
Good luck, Robin! I, too, love the idea of gardening, but the practice…not so much! It’s good to have goals!
Thank you! I definitely won’t pass up a bit of luck in this endeavour ^_^
