This book is significant because it was the first book I ever published. And people bought it! I was thrilled and confused and very, very pleased.

So Callum and Nero will always occupy a very special place in my heart, though they are a flawed and damaged couple with lots of obstacles to get through. This book ends on a HFN rather than a HEA—for that you have to read book 2 🙂

If you’d already read it, you know Nero is a hot mess, and Callum’s not much better. If you haven’t this is a forced proximity, fuck-or-die, werewolf kidnapping story, where a human and an alpha wolf have to work out how to survive together when everyone and everything seems utterly against them.

Or is that an inadequate description? How would you describe it better?

Ewan is my favorite character in all the mm books I’ve read, and that’s a lot of books. Thanks for the free book. I’ll read it again.

Thank you for the free book, Robin! I don’t think this is a better description of the book than yours, but here’s my four-star Amazon review from November 2019:

I read this series years ago when I wasn’t in the habit of leaving reviews, so I thought I should, this time around. What I found refreshing—yet sometimes a bit frustrating to my heart—was that Callum didn’t just fall into line and jump on the werewolf bandwagon. He resisted, even at the end, to integrate into the pack and Nero’s world. Since this book ends without fully resolving their relationship, I know that this will continue into the next book, and that’s okay. The romantic in me wants Callum to embrace his situation, but the rest of me is saying, “Hell, yeah! Don’t let anyone tell you what to do!” I thought this was a solid start to the series, and now I’m happily on to the next book!

Aw, thanks so much my dear 😘 This is a lovely review, and yes, Callum is stubborn as an ox. Luckily, he has an equally stubborn bondmate 😀

Thank you for the free book! I don’t know why I’ve never read this series. I gobble up everything else you write, so it’s about time I go back and read these books.
